Abstract :
Interests have grown in the use of herbal medicinal plants as feed additives to animal rations in order improve
their productive, reproductive and therapeutic performances. Nigella sativa seeds and their purified constituents have
been shown beneficial effects in several studies on such aforementioned performances. Nigella sativa seed contains more
than 100 compounds, some of which have not yet been identified or explored. The present review article addresses and
discusses the effects of Nigella sativa seeds and their purified constituents on productive, reproductive and therapeutic
performances on mammals.
