Strabo Of Geography

Strabo is counted that is most important geographer of antiquity. His work Geography, extant us consist of 17 volumes which it is masterpiece. Shortly, in this work, deal with life of Strabo, his academic personality and works has been followed such a plan: Firstly, with translated from two different source, has made up his life story. Its life story has submited to divide with some title and adding from autor some notes which it is italic. Lastly, a consideration that it inculudes whole of text, has been writting italic form for purpose of seperate between two text. Strabo produced two works in his life. First of them is Historical Sketches, and other Geographica, 17 volumes. He says in the first part of first book of Geography, that, I wrote a work, its name is Historical Sketches. Some writers cites in his work. However, this work have not extanted to present. Geography, if we ignore some little missing, it can extant to present. The first parts of work are described what is philosophy of geography and gives general information about earth. Following the first part, in there are narration deal with inhabitant region in Asia, Europe and Africa. There isn’t to Turkish translations of its all.
