The History of Geomorphology Science in the Turkey (1915‐2016)

If the qualities of the geomorphology analyses that develops as one of the sub‐disciplines of physical geography parallel to the Geography of Turkey in our country from the foundation of our republic to the day, it is understood that the three branches of development that differ from each other in order to attain the present state of this branch of science: (1) Pre‐Modern Geomorphology Period (Before 1933), (2) The Establishment and Organization of Modern Geomorphology and the Period of Ascension (1933‐1999), (3) Computer Age: Periods of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Applications (2000‐2016). In this article, the processes that emerged during these periods and periods mentioned above, the artifacts that emerged, and the academicians and researchers who occurred them, were elaborated and tried to be explained due to the History of Development of Geomorphology in Turkey. This study, as seen in the following bibliography, we are pleased to announce that we will be able to write our article in 2010 (Geomorphology Researches in Turkey (1923‐ 2010) published by TÜBA (Turkish Academy of Sciences) in 2012 (Ertek, 2012).
