Abstract :
This article is reporting the process of modul development and evaluation of its usability towards preschool children Malay language skills. The process of implementation and evaluation involved preparation of the materials, experts review and content validity of the module. During this process, the module was given to eight subject matter experts of different fields to be reviewed. Several recommendations were identified and amendment was done accordingly. The amended module was then evaluated for its content validity by 20 evaluators, consists of 8 subject matter experts and 12 users. The process of implementation and evaluation involve six children from two preschools of Ministry of Education. Each school involved three children for data collection. Besides, two teachers were selected purposely to implement the module in each respective classroom. Qualitative data was collected through observation. Technique of data collection was done through video recording. Anecdotal record and work samples were used to obtain qualitative data. The finding showed that interaction with materials and peers interaction during play fostering children emerging Malay language skills with less guidance from teacher. The result of this study will be able to make language learning more meaningful and interesting to children. child-initiated play help children to learn language better. Children are found motivated and more engage in language learning.
