Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of university education on the skill to learn self-regulation and to determine whether there are differences between the fisrt-year and fourth year students in terms of their self-regulatory skills. By this purpose, the “Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(MSLQ)” designed by Pintrich et al. İn 1980 was given (conducted) to 75 first-year and 109 fourth-year students who were attending the department of primary Mathematics Teaching of Atatürk Üniversity in the frist period of 2007–2008 academic yerar;and according to the analyses of the data, differences were found between the sefl-regulatory skills of the first and fourth-year students.
