Abstract :
Although Khatchaturian’s compositional style was derived from Armenian folk music as well as personal stylistic features, it is affected by the folk music of Georgia, Russia, Ukrania, Turkmenistan, Azerbeijan and Turkey. The composer is often considered as a match point of the East and the West in classical music. As a result of these folkloric liasons many orginal rhythmical structures and melodic richness excist in his works, as well as rich orchestral colours. His style is mostly dominated by a lyric expression. Some of his compositions reminds of Turkish composers, since they include fokloric elements and tunes that resemble of traditional Turkish motives.The violin concerto, which is examined, is a highight that might enlight our composerseducation as well as creative production, with its traditional roots and its arches of universalsuccess. This concerto is not only one of the important works, this renowned composer of 20thcentry, but also has a potential of becoming a model of modal contemporary nationalisticclassical musics.
