Abstract :
One of the major sources that teachers use during their courses are textbooks, due to this fact it is required that the new textbooks that are being used in 1st period of primary schools should be evaluated y the teachers. In this study it is aimed to gather the wievs of primary schol teachers about new textbooks. In this research, quantitive researh model is used. Survey is used as researhmethod, and questionarre is used as researh technique. The research comprises 11primary schools of Foça and Karşıyaka districts in İzmir in 2005-2006 educationyear. To realize this, a questionarie is applied to 71 teachers in the primary schools ofİzmir and its districts and towns.In the lights of results of the questionarie applied to teachers, it is determined thatprimary teachers think that textbooks have missings and need arrangements. At theend of the researh, some recommendations are presented.
