Abstract :
This study was done in order to research problem solving skills of pre-service music teachers based on differing variables. This study was conducted on 70 pre-service music teachers of 2009-2010 academic year. Heppner and Peterson’s “Problem Solving Inventory” which was adapted to Turkey by Heppner and Sahin (1993) was used as the data collection tool. Data were analysed with t-test and Kruskal Wallis test. In the light of the research’s findings, it was found that there is not a meaningful difference in their problem solving skills based on the high schools they graduated from, the ir gender and age but, it was found that there was meaningful differences that are dependent on whether they are senior, junior or bachelor.
