Abstract :
This study aimed at determining the views of pre-service class teachers and social studiesteachers about the connections between social studies and mathematics courses. 175 preserviceteachers were selected from Adnan Menderes University at 2008-2009 education year. A data collection tool prepared by the authors was applied. The tool consisted of six open-endedquestions and a table asking whether the relations given in the social studies program aresuitable or not. The collected data were classified and analyzed. The results of the study showedthat the primary teachers have the general information about making connections betweendifferent courses and its importance. Additionally, results showed that the primary teachersthink that some relations given in the program for the grades of 4th and 5th are not suitable.
