Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine teachers’ views about measurement andassessment part of New High School Mathematics Curriculum. The sample of thisresearch, which was carried by using case study, consisted of seventeen teachersfrom different kind of schools in Trabzon. Data were collected through a semistructuredinterviewing form and analyzed by using the qualitative data analysis software NVivo 7. The conclusions of this research show that teachers use traditionalmethods dominantly. Furthermore it was determined that teachers mostly carriedout summative assessment, so it was understood that the contemporary assessmentapproaches prescribed by new mathematics curriculum were not be able to put intopractice sufficiently and practices that reflect traditional assessment approaches arestill going on.
