Abstract :
The main aim of this study was to investigate the effects of academic self-efficacy,academic achievement, age, gender and boarding school on adolescents’ self-perceptions. Inaddition, in this study, differences in the self-perceptions of adolescents based on school type,socio-economic level and chosen academic area were investigated. The sample of the studyconsisted of 382 (F=196, M=186) high school students. The data of the study was obtainedwith information gathering form, Piers Harris Children’s Self Concept Scale and the AcademicSelf-Efficacy Scale. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the selected variables wereexplained 11% of adolescents’ self-perceptions. Also, adolescents’ self-perceptions did notdiffer according to socio-economic level but according to type of school and chosen academicarea were showed a significant difference. Results of the study were discussed with in the lightof the current literature.
