Abstract :
Problem: The aim of this study is to examine the differences of emotional intelligence pointsaccording to their learning styles.Method:In this study descriptive method is used. The sample consists of the randomlychoosen 147, 7 and 8th grade students. Kolb’s learning Style Inventory and Bar-on EmotionalIntelligence Scale are used as instruments. Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory is adapted intoTurkish by Aşkar and Akkoyunlu (1993) and Bar-on Emotional Intelligence Scale is adaptedinto Turkish by Köksal (2005). The findings of the research are analyzed by Anova, Scheffeand Pearson Moment Corelation.Findings: It is seen as a result of the study that emotional intelligence points differs accordingto learning styles in total. Assimilators have higher points than divergers. In other dimensions ,it isn’t found any difference between intrapersonal and positive impression .However there aredifferences between interpersonal, stress management, adaptabilty and general mood.Conclusion: Students emotional intelligence according to their learning styles can be usedwhen preparing students’ activities and projects in educational settings.
