  • Abstract
    In order for the teachers to fulfill the requirements of the profession, they should be trained in such a way that they will have certain characteristics during the pre-vocational period. These characteristics which define the prospective teachers make up a model teacher. This model is aimed to be realized in teacher training programs and practices. After all, the purpose of this research is to discern the model or the type of teacher that is aimed. The research was conducted on 210 seniors in 21 programs at Buca Faculty of Education. The data of the research was collected through open-ended questions. The content analysis technique was employed to analyze the data. The categories were explained through quotations from the expressions of the participants, and the frequencies of the categories were calculated. The results of the research were labeled as “traditional”, “democrat-innovative”, “no common idea” and “other”.
