Abstract :
Objective: The main aim of this study was to investigate the assocations of folk beliefs with gender and Locus of Conrol. Method: This cross sectional study was conducted with 445 university students (289 females and 156 males). Data were collected through information form, a list of folk beliefs and Locus of Conrol scale. Data were analysed employing Chi-square test. Results: Findings revealed a significant relationship between folk beliefs and gender. The study also found some significant relations between folk beliefs and LoC. Conclusion: The study concluded that folk beliefs are widespread among women and those with an external Locus of Conrol.
