  • Abstract
    The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the activities prepared in accordance with the conceptual change approach on students’ conceptual understanding of “floatingsinking objects, buoyancy force of liquids”. The research is carried out in the form of a quasiexperimental research in the Faculty of Education in Giresun University in 2012-2013 spring term. The sample is 51 sophomore students of elementary education. The experiment group is consisted of 24 students and the control group is consisted of 27 students. The groups are selected randomly. The data collection tool is a concept test including 11 multiple-choice questions. According to the analysis results, it can be said that conceptual change approach is found to be more effective at providing conceptual learning of floating-sinking objects, buoyancy force of liquids.
