Abstract :
The main objective of this research is to analyze “the ideas and debates in Turkish Education System on coeducation during The Second Constitutional Era”. The reason for choosing coeducation as the subject of this research is to show how the teachers and intellectuals evaluate coeducation that plays an important role in Turkish cultural and social lifestyle. Ideas that defend coeducation and most of the discussions during The Second Constitutional Era result from the claims that defend the necessity of education of women and coeducation is the modern educational approach. Therefore, we see writings of female instructors and intellectuals more than others. In addition, impressions of Europe are expressed because reaching the degree of modern civilizations can be realized by the education of women. It can also be said that acceptance of the idea that women can participate in social life with men has affected coeducation to be on agenda.
