Abstract :
This study aims to identify the level of success of eighth graders in handwriting. The samples of handwritings have been evaluated by “handwriting skills observation form” designed by the researcher. The research has been conducted with 100 eighth grade students randomly picked at a central district in Ordu. The findings from the study shows that eighth graders have average success in legible cursive handwriting, a good level of success in writing speed and their legibility and writing speed does not necessarily change according to their writing style preferences. The findings have been discussed in the light of the literature.
