Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to analyze the place of environmental education in 4. 5. 6. and 7th grades Primary School Social Studies Curriculum which is implemented by Ministry of National Education within the context of general aims, vision of the curriculum, expectations, concepts, skills and values which are the basic elements of the curricula. In the study, document analysis method was used to examine the curriculum document in terms of environmental education. According to the findings, it has been reached that social studies curriculum includes 4 of 17 aims environmental-related, its vision statement has “education citizen that are sensible to the environment he/she lives” which is environment-related, environment-related expectations are %18.3 of the all expectations, the most environment-related grade is the 5th with the rate of %21.7 in terms of environment-related expectations, and considerable amount of curriculum concepts, values and skill are environment-related.
