Abstract :
The current study aiming at determining the parent taking care of their children the most by directly observing mother, father and children coming to the bookstores was carried out depending on Qualitative Research Method. The observations carried out without any interruption in the natural environment was conducted in 13 different bookstores in the central towns of the city of Ankara. The participants of the research were made up of 104 children and their mothers and fathers. The case of parents’ taking care of children was observed through “Unstructured and Non-Participant Observation”. At the end of the research, it was found that the parent taking care of the children in the bookstore which is one of the outdoor environment is the mother. It is recommended that some educational programs that would support fathers to take more care of their children should be prepared for the fathers to allow them to spend more qualitative time with their children and they should be encouraged to participate.
