Child Rearing Attitudes of Incarcerated Mothers

The main goal of this study is to investigate the child rearing attitudes of incarcerated mothers. In order to describe the situation general screening model was used. The sample set of 95 incarcerated mothers with 2-6 years old children staying in Ankara Women, Aksaray and Konya E-type Prisons. In this research to measure the child rearing attitudes of mothers, “Parental Attitude Scale” developed by Karabulut Demir and Sendil (2008) was used. The results of this study showed that, mothers’ age, mothers’ educational status, children’s number and their crime had significant differences of mothers’ child rearing attitudes.
