Abstract :
In this study, Central Composite Design (CCD) approach of Response Surface Methodology(RSM) was applied to develop a mathematical model and to optimize the parameters ofelectrocoagulation process (EC) for the removal of Yellow145 (Y145) dye. The EC process wasstudied by using coupled electrodes of Fe-Fe and Al-Al, separately. The operational parameters ofthe process such as dye concentration, pH, electrolysis time and amount of NaCl were studied toobtain their desired levels for getting the high value of the removal of the dye. The values ofcorrelation coefficient (R2) of themodel were found to be 81.71%, 56.93% for Fe-Fe and Al-Al,respectively. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) helped in finding the significant variables of theprocess. The response surface plots were plotted to observe the interaction between the levels ofthefactors on the response of the process.
