Abstract :
In this paper a vector control induction motor drive is first simulated and then implemented in real-time where a novel artificial neural network (NN) based on wavelets (namely wavenet) is used as a controller in order to makethe system more robust. The data for training the NN is extracted fromthe processwith several PID set controllers to achieve the best operation for all regions of the system operations. With the wavenet at the first resolution, the desired accuracy is obtained and it is not necessary to go to higher resolutions. Afterdetermining the number of nodes at each resolution and the number of wavelets at each node, the location of nodes at each resolution is determined, Finally, a vector controlled induction motor drive for traction applications was designed and implemented in real-time andthe results prove the validityof the drive.
