Abstract :
Al-MCM 41 is an important material for reducingmethylene blue waste through adsorptiontechnique.TheMCM 41adsorption was mostly influenced on theMCM 41 framework that wasbuilt.Hence, the aluminaincorporated on the MCM 41will change theMCM 41frameworks tobecome negative charge so that it influences theadsorptionprocess of methylene blue. In thisstudyevaluatedthe effect of alumina on MCM 41 frameworksin theadsorption process of themethylene blue. The researchresultedthat Al-MCM 41 has been synthesized directly, it showedany differenton MCMframework becausealumina causedthe isomorphic substitution with Siatom. This indication can be identified fromthe shift ofFTIRwavenumbers at 795 cm-1thatshowed any different vibration of Si-O-Si and Si-O-Al, whilethe decreasing intensity of XRDindicated any different crystalinity formed. Al-MCM 41 hasa goodabilityas an adsorbent forremovingmethyleneand it is more effectivethan Si-MCM 41.Al-MCM 41 follows theadsorptionmodelappropriatethe Langmuir isotherm equation.
