Abstract :
This paper brings together facts, datas and literature research associated with studies on evolutionof coastal morphological landscape(CML) from anthropogenic actions and evolutionary trend in the State of Kuwait.It reviews the relevant documents and evaluates the existing coastal management plan, policies, practices and strategies in Kuwait to preserve CML, protect depleting natural coastal resources or forbid the encroachment of sensitive coastal areas. I aim to highlight facts that were left incomplete in research studies with respect to changing coastal morphology.The review of literature does not portray any studies done until date relating to evolution of coastal morphological landscape other than one i.e. Neelamani et al. (2007). The review on the paper suggested that research was not conducted on the trend in land cover change into land use. The Kuwait Environmental Public Authority (KEPA) has standard norms for environmental protection. Studies, surveys and impacts with respect to coastal engineering has advanced whereas inadequate studies have been done on natural CML or depleting coastal resources in the country where coastal areas are relatively small, in comparison to coasts around the world, and where the undisturbed coasts are slowly downsized due to anthropogenic encroachments and natural changes. In addition, a point to be taken to consideration is the unavailability of legislation in the ‘State of Kuwait’ with respect to laws that would protect Mother Nature’s coastal morphological landscape.
