Abstract :
A forty-year-old woman suffering from palpitation for six months was admitted to cardiology clinic. Continuous murmur was heard on left subclavian space on physical examination. Normal sinus rhythm and left ventricular hypertrophy signs were present in her electrocardiography. In echocardiographic examination left cardiac chamber dilatation and shunt from aorta to pulmonary artery were revealed by color Doppler imaging. Diagnosis of patent ductus arteriosus was confirmed with transoesophagial echocardiography. Patent ductus arteriosus was closed by using 8x5 mm Amplatzer ductal occluder with transcatheter procedure by cardiac catheterization. No complications occurred during and after the procedure and the patient was discharged.
