Abstract :
Anesthesia procedures are risky in morbidly obese patients with regard to mortality and morbidity, even in fully equipped operating rooms. The ERCP procedure is performed in polyclinics while the patients are positioned face down. Our case had a body mass index of 41.3 kg/m2 and was at risk due to rapid respiratory depression along with difficulty in ventilation and intubation. In this case report, we aimed to underscore the fact that while applying anesthesia outside of the operating room, one should be prepared to perform intubation and mechanical ventilation as well as be ready to manage hemodynamic problems that may arise.
