Abstract :
Termitesareone of themosttroublesomepestofplants,trees, woodeninfrastructure and agriculturalcrops.The aim of the present study is to evaluate the population of some plant oils using Eugeniacaryophyllata, ElettariacardamomumandCitrus sinensisagainstCoptotermes heimi(Wasmann)atPunjabUniversity,NewCampusLahore,Pakistan.A l l p l a n t s w e r e e f f e c t i v e l y t o x i c a g a i n s t C . h e i m ia s 1 0 0 % m o r t a l i t y w a s o b s e r v e d a t 62.5, 125 and 250 μl/mldoses within three to four days of exposure. All plantoils extracts proved to be highly repellent to the termites even in the low concentrations. These plantoilscanbe used for effective termitecontrol beinglessexpensive andbiodegradable,hence environmentallysuitable.
