KAEDAH PENGAJARAN DAN PEMBELAJARAN ASAS JAWI BAGI KANAK-KANAK PRASEKOLAH

The lack of usage of Jawi writing and the perception that Jawi is difficult to learn have caused it to be slowly forgotten by the younger generation. The skills of writing Jawi for children should start in pre-school. Children at this age can easily form basic Jawi characters and are able to read some of its syllables. Although Jawi has existed in our country for a long time, research on the process of Jawi writing is still insufficient. Based on previous studies conducted on other writing forms such as Roman, Chinese and Sanskrit, the process of writing basic Jawi characters have been identified, which are tracing, copying and printing. The practice approach includes the process of repetition, feedback and reinforcement activities. Findings from survey on teachers have further confirmed this process and approach. All of these processes and exercises are important elements in Jawi writing education for preschoolers.
