Abstract :
According to valency grammar where verb is in the center, a verb requires a noun as a quantity (number) and quality (animated/unanimated). All these nouns are qualified as valency. In that sense, the case suffixes are as important as the number of valencys required by the verb in Azeri Turkish. There is a limit on the number of valencys for each verb. And although the valency of each verb is not used by the speaker, there is still a need for it and these unused valencys are called as valency spaces. Just like in Turkey Turkish, Azeri Turkish the valency remains unfulfilled and does not have any category. This study examines the valency conjugation of verbs “danış-, qayıt-, səlbələ-, başa düş-, danla-, darıx-, qışqır” which are used in Azeri Turkish but not in Turkey Turkish.
