Abstract :
Obtaining stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) is simple and convenient. Every child loses the primary teeth, which create the perfect opportunity to recover and store for the convenient source of stem cells. The primary teeth are needed to treat future injuries or ailments and present a far better alternative to simply discarding the teeth or storing them as mementos from the past. Furthermore, using one’s own stem cells prevent the risks for developing immune reactions or rejections following transplantation and also eliminate the potential of contracting disease from donor cells. The purpose of this review is to discuss the importance of the SHED cells.
