Abstract :
Nanotechnology is a natural result derived from scientific development occurring on an atomic level. Nanotechnology, basically, is the science of manipulating matter at nanometer level and its application in dentistry is called nanodentistry. Although the nanoscale is small in size, its potential is vast. This paper includes examples for recent development of nanoproducts and provides a glimpse of nanotechnological applications in dentistry. New potential treatment opportunities in dentistry can be summarized as mechanical dentifrobots used for chair-side oral health maintenance, covalently bonded diamondised enamel, orthodontic realignments via single office visit and hypersensitivity cure.
