Historical Study of Plants in Holy Al-Quran: A Review

This topic discusses on the history and development studies involving plants in Al-Qur an Al-Karim from the standpoint of language. Plants in Al-Qur an Al-Karim include the words of plants, word of trees and name of plants. The focus of this research is to study the historical aspect of plants in Al-Qur an Al-Karim from the language viewpoint. The data was collected qualitatively using the historical and documentary method and both of these methodologies implemented the library research technique. The collected data was analyzed according to the previous work done by the ancient and modern scholars. Computer software and the internet were also used to facilitate the process of data analysis. The result showed that the historical development of the research related to plants in Al-Quran Al-Karim in the field of agricultural sciences, medical sciences, fiqh agriculture and geography are basically originated from the language areas particularly in the field of Arabic lexicography.
