Abstract :
Aim: It is to determine the evaluations of the akademic personel who have worked in nursing departments of nursing and health collages about ethical climate in their instituons. Method: The research was conducted with 644 academician nurses worked 71 nursing and health collages in Turkey. Data was gathered with the questionnaire composed of the personel and professional characteristic and Ethical Climate Scale. Obtained data were used with frequency, percentages, t-test, Kruskal Wallis, ANOVA and correlation tests. Results: The signifi ciant statistical differences was found regarding laws and professional codes (p= 0.000), company codes (p= 0.000), social responsibility (p= 0.000), effi ciency (p= 0.001), friendship (p= 0.05) and team interest factors between nursing colleges and health colleges. These differences were determined in nursing colleges’ favour. However the mean scores of both collages is high. In Self-interest, personal morality and company profi t levels were found no signifi ciant statistical differences (p 0.05). In addition, It was stated that the self-interest (3.08±1.38) by the academicians of the departmant of nursing management and teaching and the personal morality (3.17±0.94) by academicians of fundementals nursing were more dominat. Conclusion: In both collages and specially nursing colleges were determined that the cosmopolitan, local/organizational and principle levels of ethical climate were more dominat than individual or egoism levels.
