Abstract :
A (H1N1)v was seen in Mexico on March 18, 2009 firstly, later on spread to USA, Canada and UK in Europe rapidly. First case of pandemic influenza in Turkey was identified on May 15, 2009. According to Pandemic Influenza Action Plan which was revised in 2006, ministry of health started to take control and preventive measures against to pandemic influenza in soon. Between May-August 2009, the frequency of cases was low and seen in the western part of Turkey. Following open of school, pandemic influenza acted as an epidemic disease. The peak of epidemic was occurred on 47th-49th week of 2009. Most of the deaths were seen among 25-44 age groups. However the mortality rate was highest among over 65 age group (14.5/million populations) and 0-4 age group (11.8/million populations). Reported death cases were 647 and the proportion of death among 25-44 age groups was 37.1%. This review was presented by using draft data, after further analysis will be carried out and the magnitude of the pandemic influenza in Turkey will be understood as well.
