Abstract :
Curriculum development and evaluation in medical education are the main working areas for those who work in medical education. Curriculum development is a process which can be defined as a set of dynamic relationship between elements of training program which are goal, content, teaching- learning process and assessment, and should be emphasized. The aim of this study is to develop a learner-centered, community-based curriculum that has physicians achieve knowledge, skills and attitudes for meeting the basic health needs of the community, and producing solutions. Model covers administrative approval, planning, needs analysis, defining learning objectives, choosing the content, organizing the learning activities, evaluating the curriculum, and sustainability. A program development model for Turkey was developed at the end of the study.
