Abstract :
Health is one of the most important factors affecting human ability and functions and accordingly has the key role in determination of human capital quality through manufacturing processes. During the past decades, many studies have been done to identify the various factors affecting human health. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of income distribution on life expectancy and under-5 mortality rate during 19762007- in Iran. For this purpose Johansen- Juselius co-integration approach has been used. Empirical results show that, there is a long-run convergent relationship between above-mentioned variables. Furthermore, results revealed that income inequality has negative effect on health indicators. Therefore, it could be argued that improvement in income distribution can lead to higher standards of health in Iran.
