Kesedaran dan Sikap Komuniti dalam Pengurusan Persekitaran Di Wilayah Iskandar, Johor

This paper discusses aspect of puplic awareness and communitys’ attitutes toward invironmental preservation. Data and information are collected from field samples undertaken at Iskandar territory, Johor. The outcomes of this survey show most inhabitants at that area are conscious about the importance of environmental cleanliness but their mind-sets are being intimidated by the believe that it is the responsible of local authorities to take care the environment. Respondents perceived that the space cleanliness care outside their own residential places¯namely, beach, public recreation parks and public places in general¯are the responsibilities of the authorities. This attitude could contribute to the detraction of responsibility and the urge to take care of the environment cleanliness within the community. This paper concludes that environmental preservation needs the involvement of all parties through organized activities such as campaigns or special programs.
