Abstract :
The Preparation, Characterization and Sorption properties of the Magnesium Titanate (MgTiO3) for UO22+ions have been described. Different factors which affect the sorption process were studied e. g., time, pH,competing ions, solution temperature. The Uranium was analyzed by Uv/vis. spectrophotometric method. The kinetics of sorption have been found to follow first order rate law and obeying Freundlich Isotherm. The mechanism of sorption was found to follow mainly the film diffusion control and minor contribution from particle diffusion. Also, various kinetics and thermodynamics functions were evaluated. The research aimed to prepare inorganic ion exchanger with optimum exchange ability for radioactive materials
