Abstract :
Regional tourism refers to the offering and networking of tourism activity in areas providing various product including eco-tourism, coastal tourism, cultural tourism, heritage and island tourism. These products have attracted tourist and increasingly becoming a vital asset in driving the regional economic corridor development especially in ECER, NCER and the Iskandar Development Region (IDR). However, this conceptual has yet to be proven in terms of their performance and effectiveness. This article aims to examine the developmental scenario and how effective this concept in contributing to the sustainable tourism region.
