Abstract :
Carcinoid tumors are rare slow-growing tumours that originate in the cells of the neuroendocrine system either enterochromaffin or Kulchitsky cells1. The nerve cells rarely undergo hyperplasia or neoplastic transformation, whereas cells in the endocrine glands and in disseminated sites in the mucous membranes and skin may undergo a tranformation commonly known as carcinoid tumors2.
