Abstract :
Vitiligo is a skin disease of unknown aetiology affecting around 0.1-2% of world population. There exit a number of theories to explain the aetiology of this disease, but the most accepted one is autoimmune hypothesis. It may be associated with a number of autoimmune diseases as well as cutaneous disorders including psoriasis, lichen planus and discoid lupus erythematosus. There are only a few reported cases of concurrent vitiligo, lichen planus and psoriasis. The exact cause of the association of these dermatoses is still not clearly known, but autoimmunity could play a role. We here report a case of vitiligo in a 16-year-old male patient who subsequently developed lesions of psoriasis and lichen planus and some of the psoriatic plaques were colocalized with vitiligo. Histopathology was consistent with the clinical diagnosis of coexistent vitiligo, psoriasis and lichen planus in a single patient.
