Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to isolate the surface membrane (integument) of F. gigantica in pure form. A method developed to isolate the integument of F.gigantica intact in pure preparation for the first time. The adult F. gigantica worm were treated with various reagents. It was found a great differences in the stability of the surface integument of F. gigantica. The proteins of isolated surface integument of F. gigantica were also separated and detected by commasie blue staining after polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. There were two major and three minor band components. Micro-Ouchterlony gel immunodiffusion test showed five precipitin lines formed between the surface membrane (integument) antigens and antisera from infected sheeps with metacercaria.
