Abstract :
Methylphenidate remains the mainstay ofpharmacological management in attentiondeficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Despitehaving been available for over half a century,methylphenidate’s original formulation has beenmodified with the main purpose of extendingits duration of action. This article will present abrief review of how these new formulations varyand how these should be selected, consideringthe evidence available on their effectiveness andon the individual needs of the patient.
