Abstract :
The muscular dystrophies are inherited conditions characterized by progressive myopathy [1]. The most common types are Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker muscular dystrophy. Emery– Dreifuss musccular dystrophy (EDMD), the type reported here, is less common. Worldwide incidence is estimated to be 1 in 100 000 [2], but there is not sufficient evidence on the prevalence of this condition in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
