Abstract
In view of the vectorial role and academic importance, diagnostic characters and geographical distribution of the two species, viz., Grassomyia indica (Theodor) 1931 and G. dreyfussi turkestanica Theodor Mesghali, 1964 are reviewed in the present paper, to help the zoologists and medical researchers for correct identification of each species. A key, differential characters and photographs of their important structures are also provided here. The phylogenetic relationships are also briefly discussed.
