Abstract :
The graft copolymerization of Maleiv anhydride (MAH) onto High Density Polyethylene was investigated using Benzyl peroxide (BPO) as an initiator and p-xylene as a solvent media. The effect of different parameters such as reaction time, reaction temperature, maleic anhydride (MAH) and initiator (BPO) concentration were studied and discussed. The maximum grafting degree (1.37%) and percentage yield (72%) has been observed at MAH concentration 1.02×10^-3 mol/l and BPO concentration 2.064×10^-4 mol/l for the reaction time 4 hrs. Proof of Grafting was also established by weight increasing, titration and FTIR spectrum
