Abstract :
Charge transfer complexes of 2-Itydroxy·1 ,4-napllthoquiJlone with 2,3 and 4-picoline, 4-picolylamine, 2-aminopyrimidine and 2-aminopyridine were studied and their absorption spectra were recorded. In each case one charge Inmfer (CT) band was observed. These investigations were made in three different solvents (CCl4, CH2Cl2 and CHCl3) at four different temperatures (20, 25, 30 and 35°C).The values of association constant (KAI), molar extinction coefficient (E^AD) and absorption band ofcharge transfer complexes (hvct) were calculated. The ionization potentials of the donors (I^D) werecalculated from the complex band energy. Thermodynamic parameters i.e. changes in standard treeenergy (deltaG^0, standard entropy (deltaS^0 and standard enthalpy (deltaH^0) for all these CT complexes were also calculated.
