NEW APPROACHES FOR REDUCTIVE WASHING OF POLYESTER KNITTED FABRICS

In the study, we tried to bring a new approach to the reductive washing process. Firstly, alkali reductive washing was applied using three different washing agents. Then, alternatively, reductive washing was treated at acidic condition using same agents without loading out dyeing solution. At the end of the study, the color and different fastness performances of all specimens were measured. When the results were examined, it was seen that acidic washing treatments gave similar performance results as alkali depending on the type of the washing agents and working conditions, and it was reached a decision that acidic process was useful for cleaning of the polyester after dyeing by disperse dyes.
