Abstract :
The City is Flat: Yet expands faster and faster forever. Like in the theory of the flat Universe, the City continues expanding faster and faster forever. What if the city continues expanding faster and faster forever? In a physical expansion of the cities and higher demands: green areas . The city is considered to be tree, network, landscape,. Most of the mega cities around the world lacks for green areas and open urban spaces. The case of Cairo as metropolitan city with the increasing number of slums and polluted air and traffic problems leads to shrink the green areas inside the streets and open spaces. This problem needs urgent and creative solutions. There for the vision plan for Cairo 2050 needs to have focus on ecological and sustainable landscaping due to the extreme air and land pollution. It is important to adopt the areas utilized into the planning of the cities, both reflecting the natural qualities of the landscape and functioning as a generator in the cities development.The design of a green roof or a roof garden can also contribute to the sustainability of a landscape architecture projects. The roof will help manage surface water, provide for wildlife and provide for recreation. In this paper we will try to shed the light on the green roof as a sustainable ecological solution for Cairo mega city urban and pollution problems as a vision of Cairo 2050.
