Abstract
This paper is a study of the stepper motor response when using a fuzzy logic controller. The position tracking of the PM stepper motor is investigated on open loop case. The FL controller is used to modify the open loop response. The stepper motor modeling and the applied controllers are simulated using MATLAB simulation toolbox. The use of the controllers is expected to improve the motor performance in other words, reduce the rise time, minimize the system overshoots and eliminate the steady state error. The obtained results show the advantages of using FIX.
